The Honda NX500 is powered by a 471cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine churning out 47.5PS and 43Nm. The NX500’s claimed mileage is 27.8kmpl. The engine works in conjunction with a 6-speed transmission with slip-and-assist clutch. While it comes with traction control, there are no riding modes.
The NX500 is built on a steel diamond frame linked to a 41mm Showa SFF-BP inverted fork and a linked monoshock with a 5-step preload adjustability. Braking is via twin 296mm discs with axial callipers and a 240mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. The bike rolls on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels wrapped with dual-purpose tyres. Honda does not offer spoke wheels even as an option. The fuel tank capacity stands at 17.5 litres, and the seat is 830mm tall. It tips the scale at 196kg (kerb).
Noteable features include an all-LED lighting, TFT console with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, windshield, and an engine immobiliser. Expect the NX500 to be priced at around Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The Honda NX500 rivals the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure.
