Design-wise the SuperSport looks sharper and sportier than ever before thanks to the redesigned fairing which extends all the way to the exhaust. Its LED headlight now looks a lot like the Panigale V4 and even features fins to funnel air to the rider’s legs, thus improving thermal comfort. You also get a new two-step adjustable visor up front, for improved wind protection.
It continues to be powered by a 937cc Ducati Testastretta twin-cylinder engine which now complies with Euro-5 emission norms. The motor belts out 111.5PS at 9000rpm and 93Nm at 6500rpm.
A new 4.3-inch TFT dash offers control over the bikes three riding modes: Sport, Touring and Urban, cornering ABS, traction and wheelie control monitored by a 6-axis IMU. The bike even gets a bi-directional quickshifter for clutchless up and downshifts. Other notable features include heated grips, Ducati Multimedia System (DMS) and USB charging socket under the seat.
In terms of hardware, the SuperSport 950 uses a trellis frame, an aluminium single-sided swingarm, a fully adjustable 43mm Marzocchi fork and a Sachs monoshock. As for the more premium S trim, it gets a 48mm fully adjustable USD fork from Ohlins and a fully adjustable monoshock, also from Ohlins. Bringing the bike to a dead stop are twin 320mm rotors mated to Brembo M4.32 calipers up front and a single disc at the rear.
The 2021 Ducati SuperSport retails at Rs 13.49 lakh, Rs 15.49 lakh, and Rs 15.69 lakh for the base variant, S variant, and S variant in white colour, respectively. At this price, the SuperSport primarily rivals the newly launched Aprilia RS 660, while also locking horns with the Honda CBR650R and the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX.
