Jaguar Land Rover sales grow over 20% in FY24 on improved production, sustained global demand

Sales of Jaguar Land Rover increased by more than 20% in FY24 due to increased production and persistent demand worldwide.

Due to increased production and persistent worldwide demand, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors, today announced a gain in wholesale and retail sales of more than 20% year over year (y-o-y).

Retail sales jumped 22% year over year to 431,733 units, while wholesale volumes increased 25% year over year to 401,303 units for the full year that concluded on March 31, 2024. In addition, all regions saw increases in retail sales and wholesale volumes over the prior year.

With the exception of the Chery Jaguar Land Rover China JV, the wholesale volumes of 110,190 units in the fourth quarter increased 16% year over year and 9% when compared to the quarter that concluded on December 31, 2023.

Brand-wise, Range Rover saw a 22% year-over-year increase in wholesale volumes to 58,280 units, Defender saw a 5% year-over-year increase to 28,702 units, Jaguar saw a 39% year-over-year increase to 13,528 units, and Discovery saw a 1% year-over-year increase to 9,680 units.
With the Chery Jaguar Land Rover China JV included, the retail sales for the fourth quarter were 114,038 units, up 11% from the same period the previous year and 4% from the quarter that concluded on December 31, 2023.

Retail sales during the quarter increased by 32% in the UK, 21% in North America, and 16% abroad as compared to the same period last year. Retail sales for the quarter were down 2% in Europe and down 9% in China when compared to the same period last year.
